Aidan Blunt, General Manager Aidan was born in Peterborough, England and immigrated to Canada in January 1993. Prior to his immigration from England, Aidan worked for a decade with the TSB Bank holding a Branch ManagerÕs position in the famous horseracing town of Newmarket, Suffolk. On his arrival in Canada, Aidan switched careers and began his hospitality career working for the Grapes Restaurant Chain in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the latter part of 1994 Aidan moved west and accepted a position with the Keg Restaurant Chain in the Caribou Lodge, Banff, Alberta. Seeking to combine his financial background, his hospitality experience and love for the game of golf, Aidan entered the Golf Operations and Management Program, at Selkirk College, British Columbia, in the fall of 1996. During the summer semester, Aidan had the pleasure of managing the Clubhouse Operations of Fairmont, Chateau Whistler, an experience which helped establish his commitment and passion for exemplary levels of service and guest satisfaction. In the early part of 1998, Aidan moved to Windsor, to work at the Essex Golf & Country Club, initially as the Food and Beverage Manager, but by late 1998 as the Clubhouse Manager. Aidan accepted the General ManagerÕs position at Pointe West in September 2001, and since joining the Pointe West team, has challenged the Management Team to continually improve programs, products and services in their respective Departments. ÒI am pleased with the development, the Club has experienced, especially within the Food and Beverage and Culinary Departments. The recent Clubhouse renovation has created a warm, comfortable and pleasant environment for our Members and guests to enjoy before or after a game. Rick Schmidtgall, Director of Golf Rick Schmidtgall has been the Head Golf Professional at Pointe West Golf Club since 1996. Rick is a Class A CPGA Professional and is responsible for directing the Golf Program in co-operation with the Board of Directors. As a CPGA Pro, Rick works with General Manager Aidan Blunt, maintains the Golf Shop and merchandising, employs an Associate (Ron Glasgow) and Assistant (Kevin Cote) Golf Professionals, as wellÊ as, Golf Shop Staff, Starters, Marshalls and Back Shop Staff. Lamont Anderson, Golf Course Superintendent Lamont ÒMonteÓ Anderson has been the Superintendent at Pointe West Golf Club since it opened. He has been a Member of both the Canadian and Ontario Golf Superintendent Associations for 30 years and has sat on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Golf Superintendents Association. He has his certificates in Personal Management, Advanced Turfgrass Management from the University of Guelph, Golf Course Design and Construction Principles and Disease Identification and Control from the Golf Course Superintendent Association of AmericaÕs Management, and Surveying and Drainage from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture. Linda Shephard turned professional in 1987. Since then, she has played in several tournaments, including four majors on the LPGA Tour and won two Dumaurier Series Championships. Also, she is a three-time Ontario PGA Champion. She has won numerous awards, including professional of the year in 1996 by the Canadian PGA. Linda was also the winner of Low Club Professional in the Ladies Canadian PGA championship 2005 and finished 2nd in the Ontario Ladies PGA Championship. Linda's teaching record is as impressive as her credentials. She began teaching in 1990 under master professional Murray Tucker and has attended several seminars, such as "The Swedish Approach" and a seminar with the late Dr. Dede Owens, co-author of the LPGA's Guide to Every Shot. Following in her father's footsteps, she and her husband Greg purchased Barcovan in 1994. She is one of only 37 women professionals in Canada and the only one in the Greater Quinte Area. Greg Shephard Greg Shephard turned professional in 1979. From 1980 to 1988, he has played in and won numerous professional tournaments. In 1989, he became the head Golf Pro at the Board of Trade Country Club in Woodbridge. Greg is no stranger when it comes to running and managing a golf course. In 1991 he went to King Valley Golf Club to act as the head Golf Director for all golf courses bought and built by Mark Frey of Switzerland. He purchased Barcovan with his wife Linda in 1994 and now sits on the panel for Golf Digest magazine.

WARREN THOMAS Head Golf Professional Growing up near Owen Sound, Warren always hoped to return to his golf roots after he graduated from university. STEVE BARBER Associate Golf Professional Raised in Stratford, Steve can thank his father for his golf career. He had Steve swinging a club at the age of 10, which set him on course to university in Oklahoma on a golf scholarship. While living in the U.S., Steve played on several mini tours and qualified for the NGA Hooters tour in Florida in 1999. Steve has worked at several prestigious courses in Canada and the U.S., including Ipswich Country Club in Massachusetts; St. Thomas Country Club as the Assistant Professional; Stone Tree Golf and Fitness Club as the Associate Professional; and Northern Dunes Golf Club as the Director of Golf. Steve’s passion for teaching has earned him the reputation as one of the best golf instructors in the Georgian Bay area.

LUKE McKENZIE Assistant Golf Professional With a golf professional for a father, Luke has a natural calling for the game. After graduating from the Professional Golf Management Program at Camosun College in Victoria, he apprenticed for three years in both the lower mainland of British Columbia and in the Okanogan Valley. Venturing south to Palm Desert California, he worked at Big Horn Golf and Country Club for six years before returning to home to Ontario where he worked for three years at Horseshoe Resort, the final two as manager of the Highlands golf course. More recently he moved to Owen Sound with his family to be part of the professional golf staff at Cobble Beach Golf Links. Luke has played professionally on the Canadian Tour and still competes on the CPGA circuit and the Great Lakes Mini Tour. He holds the title of 2005 Spring Champion, an OPGA event.

About Mark EvershedÊ Mark is a family man and a lifelong resident of Toronto, Canada. He grew up around two of theÊ legends of Canadian golf, Moe Norman and George Knudson, and had a chance to observe these great golf swings first hand. He turned pro at the age of 16 and struggled with his game for 11 years, never winning a proÊ tournament and never really understanding what he was trying to do with a golf ball. At the age of 27, he had the good fortune to work with Tom Tomasello and learned that the MIND (Knowledge) a NOT THE MUSCLES controls the golf swing. Immediately after returning to Canada, he won the first pro tournament he entered, and has won 37 more in the past 14 years. Mark will readily admit that these are not major tournaments, but that they are the same ones he entered and did NOT win for 11 years, before he acquired TRUE GOLF SWING KNOWLEDGE. Mark is very proud to be a part of this golfing lineage. ÊMark Evershed's Philosophy Mark Evershed believes that given the correct information in an organized manner, humans can learn anything. "Correct information" means acquiring knowledge and "organized manner" means proper teaching sequences. The golf swing is a series of motions that must be learned and understood and then performed in the correct sequence. Unfortunately, golf is being taught without expanding the golfer's knowledge of the golf swing. Lack of knowledge is the single, most important reason why handicaps have not decreased in the past 20 years. This knowledge has always been available. But, communicating this knowledge and in the proper sequence is the key to "becoming a golfer" and lowering your scores. If you do not have the knowledge that the golf swing motion is made up of 6 parts and if you do not know which part created the good or bad shot, then lowering your handicap permanently will be almost impossible.
