years of lecturing soil water management at Massey University. Keith continues

Brendan Hannan joined the Institute in 1993. He is the Institute's sports

Peter Munro joined the Institute in 1996 as an advisor to the Manawatu,
Hawkes Bay and East Coast regions.Ê Peter was a golf course superintendent
for 12 years and had a long involvement in the NZ Golf Course Superintendents
AssociationÊat executive level, being President in his last year.Ê Peter
manages the Institute's training programmes and specialises in contract
management,Êmachinery and equipment issues and has particular interests
in turf irrigation matters and personnel communication.

Brian Way has been an agronomist with the Institute since 1989, servicing
the Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki regions. He has a practical background
in agrichemical research and turf contracting. Brian specialises in sports
turf environmental, health and safety issues, and is an accredited GROWSAFE
trainer. He is also the editor of the NZ Turf Management Journal, New
Zealand's only turf industry magazine which is circulated to over 2000
sports turf related readers within NZ and overseas. Ê

Richard Gibbs (PhD) joined the Institute in 1991 from England where he
specialised in teaching, research, performance testing, rootzone material
analysis, drainage design and sportsfield construction. Richard has continued
to develop these portfolios and oversees construction, research and analytical
services at the Institute.Ê He also manages the National Diploma in Sports
Turf Management.

Mark Hooker started with the Institute in 2000 as the technical officer/trainee
agronomist after completing a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Prior
to this Mark worked at the Hastings Golf Club under the guidance of Bruce
Wakefield for six years where he gained a Trade Certificate in Horticulture
and Turf Management. Mark will be involved with organising the 2001 Sports
Turf Conference and Trade show as well as taking on teaching, research,
laboratory, irrigation and agronomic responsibilities.
