Claim Booty after PZ Clinic

18 Oct. 2005 GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina golfing duo of Robin Smith and Chris Ault helped the Pirates claim their first tournament title of the 2005 season at the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The tournament was being played at the par-72, 7,145-yard Bradford Creek Golf Course.

Smith (Goldsboro, N.C.) and Ault (Levittown, Pa.) each posted tournament scores of 211 and finished tied for first place. Fellow golfer Andre Thorsen (Stavanger, Norway) finished tied for tenth with a 54-hole score of 219, while Markus Leandersson (Hvalstad, Norway) finished tied for 32nd and David Smith (Hamilton, Bermuda) finished tied for 44th.

The Pirates (28-28-1) took the team title by nine strokes over Campbell (874) and 13 over third place Charleston Southern (878). "This was a big win for our team," said Assistant Coach Call Andren. "Heading into the last tournament of the fall, our team is playing well, especially Robin (Smith) and Chris (Ault)."
