Round Two & Round Three Information

Friday, April 12, 2002 Second round play in the Masters Tournament was suspended with 38 players left on the course at approximately 5:00 P.M. due to heavy rain in the area. Second round play will resume at 7:45 A.M., Saturday morning, April 13. The field (consisting of the low 44 and ties plus those within ten stokes of the leader) will be repaired after completion of the second round. It is anticipated that the first starting time for the third round will be approximately 10:45 A.M. Gates will open at 7:45 A.M. Saturday morning.

Cut Line Possible Move:

There are open spots at 136, 137, and 138 (with the current leader at 135). Goosen surely will occupy one of these four spots, so that changes nothing for the cut line. There are 41 positions above the current cut line. But if three players other than Goosen break loose from a tied position to take a spot other than one with Goosen, the cut line still will not move. But if one OTHER player also breaks loose from the ties and occupies another still-open spot (e.g., someone gets lower than Vijay), then the cut line would rise one stroke.
